History · True or False?
The answer is True.
Mansa Musa, the 9th Mansa (ruler) of Mali, is widely considered the wealthiest person in recorded history. Some historians describe his fortune as inconceivable and incalculable, and with inflation would vastly surpass the riches of the wealthiest people today. Fun fact: on his 1324 pilgrimage to Mecca, he passed through Cairo distributing so much gold that he depressed gold's value in Egypt for over a decade.
