Hunahpú and Xbalanqué outwitted the lords of Xibalba through trickery (even sacrificing each other and coming back to life) and ascended to become the sun and the moon. Fun fact: the ancient Mesoamerican ballgame still survives today in parts of Mexico as "ulama".
