It manufactured only the DMC-12, between January 1981 and December 1982, with around 9,000 units built. The original company filed for bankruptcy in late 1982, shortly after founder John DeLorean's arrest on drug trafficking charges (he was later acquitted). Fun fact: the "DeLorean Motor Company" that exists today in Texas, founded in 1995, is an unrelated company that services and restores DMC-12s.
